HELP! MY HUSBAND WETS THE BED

Yesterday as I was travelling to town (Nairobi) the radio was tuned on and one of the most astonishing stories have ever heard came up, ‘My husband wets the bed’ by an anonymous lady called Margret. She had been married to this man for the past four years and they have a child together. Ever since they started living together, the man had been wetting the bed, especially when he gets drunk with alcohol the previous night.

It started immediately they settled down together and she took time to express her concern to her husband who gave the most annoying response ever. Despite her decision to take him to the hospital he said that she should be grateful he comes home to her every night and she should think of the ladies out there who are being cheated on by their spouses yet he is loyal to her. What a surprising answer. This story got me thinking, how can a grown men wet in bed for four consecutive year? He must be really sick.

Bedwetting is a fairly common condition in young children seen as sign of immature, developing bladder. Most doctors don’t consider bedwetting in children to be a sign of a problem unless the child is older than seven years, or the child has begun wetting the bed again after six months of maintain overnight bladder control.

However, when adults wet the bed it is often an indication of underlying illness, disease or a symptom of other untreated medical condition. The condition of Margret husband may have been caused by one of these many factors, they include:

·         Genetic-whether there is a family history of bedwetting.

·         Urinary tract infection

·         Small bladder

·         Diabetes

·         Kidney disease

·         Enlarged prostate gland

·         Prostate cancer

·         Bladder cancer

·         Stress, anxiety, fear, and other psychological issues.

If anyone knows of someone in such a condition medical attention is required immediately, to solve the condition.
